In this project, I created a type monograph front and back cover, on Herb Lubalin and his influential typeface, Avant Garde.
Spanning the 1940s to the 1980s, Lubalin’s career transformed graphic design and typography. His innovative work in "Avant Garde" magazine set new standards for visual communication, merging type and image seamlessly. Lubalin’s unconventional layouts, experimental letter forms, and creation of ITC introduced fresh typefaces, profoundly impacting contemporary design. This monograph highlights his bold, expressive style and enduring legacy in merging artistry with effective communication.
